Phytotechnologies outdoor interpretive experience | Space for life
Outdoor interpretation circuit 2021 | Space for life
Project Background
In 2019, the Montreal Botanical Garden commissioned La bande à Paul to create a series of outdoor interpretive features to introduce visitors to phytotechnology: the use of plants for soil decontamination and the control of invasive species.
What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table
Installed around the pond beside the Frédéric-Back Tree Pavilion, the new features speak to both families and nature enthusiasts. With the integrity of the site in mind, La bande à Paul chose natural materials and pared-down forms that integrate seamlessly into the environment. The experience unfolds as a meandering discovery path, with interpretive elements that include a musical swing featuring birdsong and two audio stations that share short narrative capsules.
