Boisé des Frères du Sacré-Coeur Park | City of Victoriaville

Outdoor interpretation circuit 2019 - 2024 | City of Victoriaville

Project Background

In 2019, La bande à Paul was tasked with designing an interpretive trail through the heart of Parc du Boisé des Frères-du-Sacré-Cœur. The objective: to highlight the historical significance of this teaching religious community in the development of Arthabaska, the founding core of what would become Victoriaville.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

From the outset, the project was guided by a desire for sensitivity in tone and approach. Given access to a rich archive of interviews with members of the community, it quickly became clear that the most authentic choice would be to let the Brothers speak in their own words. Visitors walking the trail encounter fragments of lived memory – quotes imbued with lived presence – paired with striking archival photographs filled with candid gazes and warm smiles. The panels, crafted in Corten steeland shades of green, blend gently into the landscape. Their understated presence helps preserve the site’s tranquillity, encouraging stillness and quiet reflection.
