Toys 3 - The Voyage | McCord-Stewart Museum

Temporary exhibition 2012 | McCord-Stewart Museum

Project Background

In 2012, La bande à Paul produced the third edition of the McCord Museum’s beloved Toys exhibition, featuring 200 previously unseen objects from its extensive collection. The presentation had to meet high expectations from both young and adult audiences.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

The exhibition’s narrative followed one of the featured toys – Snoopy Sniffer the wooden dog – on a journey through a fantastical toy universe. Visitors were invited to join him in preparing for and embarking on this imaginative voyage, unfolding across six thematic zones: a welcome area (the quest), a child’s bedroom (packing), a transport hub (choosing a vehicle), and the world of Abracadabra, complete with a jungle, a campfire zone, a park, and a grand celebration of toys. The team had just six months to bring this ambitious exhibition to life, a tight schedule for a project of this scale.
