Permanent exhibition 2014 | Musée minéralogique de Thetford

Project Background

In 2014, La bande à Paul was commissioned to fully revamp the permanent exhibition at the Mineralogical and Mining Museum of Thetford Mines (now known as Minéro), which had remained unchanged for over 18 years.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

Given the shifting public discourse and data around asbestos and its extraction since the exhibition’s original launch, the content and interpretive approach required a full re-evaluation. The challenge was to strike a careful balance between regional sensitivities, local identity, historical facts, and up-to-date scientific findings. The strategy centred on a clean, contemporary design that showcased the institution’s rich collections and striking archival photography. Audiovisual features and multimedia installations were integrated into the visitor experience, lending the exhibition a fresh, modern feel.
