A Private Passion. Modern Art in Québec from the Pierre Lassonde Collection | National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec

Graphic design 2015 | National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec

Project Background

As part of its mandate to showcase Québec art from all periods, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) presented a temporary exhibition featuring works from the private collection of philanthropist and collector Pierre Lassonde. La bande à Paul was invited to collaborate on the project.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

Working in collaboration with exhibition designer Guillaume Lord, La bande à Paul developed the graphic identity for the show. With more than 100 works—primarily paintings—on display, the layout was conceived to evoke the warmth of a private residence. To reinforce this domestic atmosphere, La bande à Paul designed custom wallpaper for each room, subtly echoing the colours and textures of the artworks and decor. The firm also created the emblematic Passion privée signature, unifying the exhibition’s visual presence.
