Bonnallie Pavilion | Mont-Orford national park
Permanent exhibition 2016 | SEPAQ
Project Background
The management of Parc national du Mont-Orford enlisted La bande à Paul to design the exhibition areas of two new pavilions, each dedicated to a core aspect of the site – its Eastern Townships hills and intricate hydrographic network. The aim was to offer visitors a poetic and sensory prelude to an immersive experience in nature.
What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table
In response to the clean, contemporary architecture of the Bonnallie Pavilion, the team created a suspended sculptural piece inspired by origami, evoking the park’s defining natural features. This lightweight, airy form highlights the volume of the space while complementing its breathtaking view over Lake Stukely. In the adjacent Cerisier Pavilion, visitors can explore a large-scale model of the park and interact with terminals presenting its flora and fauna. A discovery trail for younger audiences, punctuated with themed activity stations, adds another layer of engagement.
