CONSULTING MANDATE Outdoor interpretation circuit 2021 | Minéro - Thetford KB3 Museum

Project Background

In 2021, the Centre historique de la mine King | KB3, located in Thetford Mines, retained La bande à Paul to contribute to the planning of an urban park and interpretive experience, adjacent to one of the site’s most striking features – a colossal mining truck.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

Very early on, the idea of an interpretive pathway exploring the key dimensions of Quebec’s mining industry emerged as a compelling direction. Three overarching themes were developed: the history of mining in Quebec, from its earliest days to the present; the province’s geological formations; and its natural resources. Each section of the pathway integrates interpretive steles, exhibit labels, and the display of mining artifacts, geological specimens, and industrial equipment.
