Women of Paper | Boréalis (Culture Trois-Rivières)

Temporary exhibition 2018 | Boréalis

Project Background

The Boréalis team, at the helm of a museum dedicated to the paper industry, developed a traveling exhibition spotlighting the often-overlooked contributions of women in this male-dominated field. La bande à Paul was invited to design the scenographic environment, articulated through a rich palette of interpretive strategies.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

Femmes de papier invites visitors into the daily lives of women from varied backgrounds, including homemakers, forest camp cooks, factory secretaries, and women directly engaged in production. The remarkable stories of three women are conveyed through powerful video testimonials. To foster intimacy and connection, private viewing booths were created and adorned with artworks by Trifluvien artist Valérie Morissette. Removable story cards featuring archival photos and anecdotes, along with participatory activities, were also woven into the exhibition’s thematic stations.
