Canada 150 - West Block | Information kiosk about the capital

Multimedia space 2017 | Public Services and Procurement Canada

Project Background

In 2017, as part of Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations, the Government of Canada tasked La bande à Paul with designing a space to showcase the renovation of the country’s parliamentary complex – specifically, the West Block.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

At the heart of the installation was a dynamic multimedia presentation featuring drone footage, computer-generated images of the buildings, and interviews with stakeholders involved in the project. Triggered by motion detection and displayed in panoramic mode across three screens, the presentation invited viewers into the complexity of this large-scale endeavor. The space, outfitted in the official colours of the festivities, also featured objects and interpretive content that shed light on the exceptional scale and complexity of the work carried out by the many specialized craftspeople involved in the project.
