Project Background

With its population growing steadily, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC will see a new hospital open its doors in 2027, expanding hospital capacity in the region. Designed around the people it serves, the facility aims to be humane, ambitious, innovative, and high-performing, with services and surroundings that foster a positive experience for patients and staff alike. To give the public a concrete look at everything that goes into building a project of this scale — and to open a different kind of conversation about healthcare - the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS) chose to create a travelling exhibition and invited La bande à Paul to bring it to life.

What La bande à Paul Brought to the Table

This exhibition traces the collective story behind the future Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital, highlighting how art, culture, and community engagement can help make healthcare facilities more humane, more attentive, and more deeply rooted in the places they serve. Unfolding across three distinct settings - the MRC offices, outdoor public spaces, and the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges - this experiential exhibition invites visitors to explore the project's key milestones and even to add their own contribution through creative workshops led by art educators in a converted shipping container. Immersive and participatory, it offers a sensory journey into the many forms and benefits of art - and into the collective story of a hospital born of a broad-based citizens' movement.
