Outdoor interpretation circuit | Claude Robillard Park

Outdoor interpretation circuit 2025 | City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue

Description of the Mandate

Parc Robillard, named after Claude Robillard (1715-1796), a former owner of the site, is located in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, at the western tip of the Island of Montreal. Designed to become a sustainable green infrastructure that also addresses local issues such as flooding and invasive species, it includes playgrounds and walking trails. In 2024, the La bande à Paul team was invited to help revitalize the visitor experience at this iconic site, which is much loved by the people of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

Special Features and Challenges

For this project, La bande à Paul conceived a distinctive visitor experience that departs from traditional interpretive panel circuits. The aim was to spark the curiosity of visitors of all ages through playful installations, while preserving the beauty of the landscape. For example, along the trails and flower-filled meadows, a balance beam was integrated into the interpretive module to illustrate the delicate equilibrium of ecosystems, while elsewhere, a sound station allows visitors to hear the calls and songs of the gray catbird, a species found on the site. The park, which is regularly visited by locals and passersby, is dotted with delightful surprises that invite discovery from a fresh perspective.
